After getting a pathetically built wheel which needed rebuilding in about a week, I sent the wheel back, at their recommendation. They returned it, marginally better but still needs fairly regular truing. 2 months, 10-15 phonecalls, 10-15 emails later and I've only got half the postage returned!

Among the cretinous lies:
"We only refund a maximum of £10 because that's whatit would have cost us to post"
"postage T&Cs have changed , we updated our website but haven't updated the T&Cs"

They even said
"I'm printing the refund now" (6 weeks ago, not received)

Whatever you want, however cheap they might be, don't.

A post of 'Dave Hinde again' kinda implies that you knew of their reputation yet still ordered from them - 'cos they were 'cheap' 🙄

Dave Hinde by all accounts is the 'Devils an*s' and should not be touched with even the longest,sh!ttiest stick.

Really am miffed how with his reputation he manages to stay in business?

Many people have taken up cycling in the past few years and DH advertises heavily in the mags. So I can only assume these poor people are unaware of what/whom they are dealing with when they press the button on what appears to be a good deal.

I think Dave Hinde is a sort of rite-of-passage for proper bicycle enthusiasts, like magic gates* that we should pass through at some point to confirm our purity.

I survived it.

Do I get a T-shirt?

You'd think that with the reputation he has, the magazines would refuse to allow him to advertise. I know the mag's are all about selling advertising space but surely they should draw the line somewhere?

He was banned from advertising a few years back for a couple of years, something to do with trade descriptions I beleive.
