Normally avoid this part of Dartmoor in the height of summer as it gets so overgrown, thought maybe this year it may not be so bad with the lack of rain? Anyone been up there in the last week or so?
I was up there maybe a month or so ago and found it overgrown enough to not go back. If you come up from the river and take the lower line around to the farm, that was overgrown and then part of the descent off Huntors Tor before it gets chunky was was overgrown too.
Does anyone know the deal with maybe going there and doing some bush waking? I guess no petrol strimmer but everything else would be okay?
Yep, always gets a bit much round there this time of year, certainly takes the fun out of it a bit. Cant see it could be a problem cutting back the trails a bit, though its a shame the national park guys dont do it! Exmoor always seems a lot better maintained for some reason.
