I'm looking* at a budget ish bigger travel bike and the dartmoor blackbird looks like the right sort of thing but I'm struggling to find anything on it anywhere.

I'd be looking at frame only so kit isn't an issue.

It looks like a fairly simple single pivot affair which, depending how its done, could be good, could be bad or thoroughly indifferent. I've ridden a few single pivots over the years and found they run the gamut really in terms of behaviour, I guess as much as anything it's to do with the pivot placement but to be honest I've no idea and certainly couldn't tell the difference between the them on paper.

I don't want a complete whale but it's largely going to be non pedally day bike (of which I do relatively few, hence the wanting it to be inexpensive) so nor do I need a sprightly gazelle either.

Does anyone have or know of any one who has, any time on one? Any opinion welcome.

*I'm a tart so I'm also looking at a non budget option and keep slapping my hands away from the buy button.

I saw them when Slam69 were the importer.  Nice looking bike for the money but the tyre clearance looked woeful if I remember correctly.  Plus they stick these awful ‘ride your way’ decals all over it which look a bit naff

They'll be too scuffed to read by the end of the first [s] ride[/s] series of interlinked crashes any how. 😉

When you say nice foot the money, did the welding etc look tidy [enough] or was it of the that's a bit pants but not too bad at the price sort of end?

Tyre clearance doesn't worry me too much within the bounds of normal these days, unlikely I'll ever want more than a 2.3 or at a push a 2.4 in there anyway, or was it lousy on a small tyre?

Probably not the worst idea - though in my defence abit of Googling hadn't turned up a UK source so it's not that I hadn't thought about it just I hadn't a clue where to go.

That and who asks an expert when you can ask the internet? It's 2020 you know. 😉
