I thought I was replete.
A gravel/commuter/utility bike for general riding.
A hardtail trail bike for UK, winter riding and off road touring duties.
An aggro trail full suspension for trips to Bike Parks, the Alps and general gnarliness.
So why do I find myself thinking about a fully rigid Stooge with cable pull discs to go full bikepacker?
Or perhaps an Orbea Laufey to replace the hardtail with something that's just a little bit more refined.
I blame you.
Damn you Singletrackworld forum.
Ach, you'll be looking at road bikes next.
Damn you Singletrackworld forum.
You're welcome 👍
As I've learned, there's always room for one more: town/hack/commuter + Gravel bike + Hardtail + Trail FSer + Big/Alps FSer. What am I missing? No, please I beg you all - don't answer.
Dirt Jump bike
Dirt Jump bike
Obviously one of these. Pump tracks popping up everywhere and they're a blast to ride.
Saying that, mine has gone a little dusty due to my experiments with a 22" BMX.
Or perhaps an Orbea Laufey to replace the hardtail with something that’s just a little bit more refined.
As an owner of a Laufey I can fully support this, although I'm not sure that it's more refined than anything else I've owned in the past. 😀
Heres some Stoogey bikepacking to whet your whistle. You're welcome 😊

Retrobike?
@IdleJon I'm a big fan of internal routing and in frame storage.
@40mpg I'm not looking, because I really don't need one. I've never even been bikepacking/touring with my current hardtail yet, it's always been my full sus in the past.
with cable pull discs
But why?

I'd love one, but I'm sure my legs are too long.
Also bike packing is a weekend adventure for me these days. My hardtail is perfect.
I'm not going to be blowing a for seal half way across some desert any time soon.

@ton has got me thinking about fat bikes again. Probably a good thing that Cannondale haven't sold the Fat Caad over here for a while, although thinking about it just makes me sad that I didn't buy the one with a Lefty that I saw in Evans with £2k off a few years ago.
@scotroutes for bikepacking reliability and serviceability in the wilds of Scotland.
LOL
As I'm getting older I'm getting better at resisting the urge but those new Stooges get my juices flowing. Sadly, my once a year bikepacking trips do not justify one 🙁
I have owned and sold both a jump bike and a gravel bike so I'm clearly far from immune to the itch...
Still got the fat bike though 🙂

Ah got you. Mine is the last version so no frame storage and slightly steeper geo.
