Recently sold my full on carbon gnar-sled ready to order it’s replacement but with the way things are currently and the wife out of work for the foreseeable future, spending a decent chunk of money on a brand new boutique bike feels a bit irresponsible at the moment*

As it stands for the first time in 12 years I’m bikeless and looking for something to see me through until we are allowed out to play again. I’m looking for something that will do for getting out with the kids for their daily ride and also something with enough of a gear ratio that will stop me spinning out when put on the turbo.

I think a hybrid of some sort would be ideal, I had agreed a price for Cannondale Bad Boy but the w@nker selling it decided he’d had a better offer. I’m trying to keep my budget as low as possible as it’s coming out of my future bike funds so ideally want to spend no more than £400-£450. Ideally not the usual Boardman/Carrera options.

Any suggestions for something suitable? Thanks.

*sorry.

BMN Alpenchallenge or Cube who seem to make a lot of what you want. My BMC has been faultless.

Pinnacle lithium

29er HT frame geo, rigid fork, discs and fat slick tyres.

Mines done over 800 miles of family duties, plus summer holiday trips and not required any maintenance.

I started a thread on it, but dunno how to find my threads, or replies created now!

Thanks all, struggled to find some of the suggestions in stock and at a decent price.

I’ve ordered the last medium Kona Dew from Millets https://www.millets.co.uk/activities/331114-dew.html

£384 delivered with the 15% discount. I thought it was black (I’m colourblind), but the kids are adamant it’s green. Not sure what year it is but looking at previous years the spec doesn’t change much.
