Killing some time in Halfords earlier and got looking at Locks.
ATM theres 20% off everything reserved or bought online so looked at a Magnum D lock, with reduction, £32 its sold secure gold.
Ive got a Oxford silver lock that weighs a ton so am considering getting this Magnum one as its lighter and smaller so could go on the frame of the shopping bike, and in my camalbak for the MTB.
I never leave the MTB long, just nipping into McDs, cafe etc, but want some ideas on a decent extension cable to stop the wheels etc being nicked ( just invested in some nice new expensive ones )
I gather none of them are rated gold, but can anyone recommend a decent cable or should I just get one from halfords as they are all more or less the same ?
Also im looking for a wall anchor and chain to secure the MTB - its in my utility room but im getting paranoid ATM coz ive spent quite a bit on wheels etc - so any ideas on a good wall anchor and chain ?
I bought one of the kryptonite d locks which came with a cable. I came from on-one. D goes through the rear triangle and wheel with the cable which goes through the fork and front wheel.
Great for the shops and home as a second lock.

look here for how the locks perform:

getting a chain that you can wear as a belt is good as you don't really notice the weight much - unlike a d-lock.

I don't know if the Onguard is the same as the Magnum as I can't see the shackle dimensions. The Magnums gold rating would only be a concern if you have insurance that requires it.
The (non coiled) cables allow you to carry around the shoulder if you don't use a bag or holster. I don't think there is such a thing as a secure cable though.
Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't all out to nick your bike.
Get a krypto mini evo and a belt holster, unnoticeable and will actually stop your wheels being taken unlike a cable
