Didn't someone start a list of currently available disc ready frames?
I have searched but I cant find it, i know of
Boardman
kinesis
genesis
on one
lynskey
tricross and Crux in usa only.
Cotic x

What else it there, ideally more race ready than touring?

Oooh, I was fondling a Kinesis Pro6 yesterday in Ride On in Rawtenstall. I'm going to wait until Shimano launch their hydraulic road brake though.

I notice you've a fair stack of spacers on the stem; how do you reckon the position will turn out? I don't want anything too racy as this will be my winter trainer/tourer/possible CXer.

Spoke to upgrade yesterday and they say 8 weeks till the pro 6 is back in stock.

One other option - standard frame with adapter

[img] [/img]

Maybe not what I'd advise in an ideal world but a relatively cheap way of doing it if you get a second hand frame.

Just whacked them all on to start with and going to progressively lower it until its right. The seatpost in the pic is way to high for my hobbit legs anyway so everything will prob drop quite a bit.

Once Ive got the wheels on I will get a better feel of how high I want the stem. its all a bit of an experiment at the minute, not sure if the stem is even the right length (100mm) and angle, as it seems a lot shallower angle than my road bike stem.

See my other post about bits getting lost in the post!! Most of the other bits should arrive today (or sit in the delivery office until saturday!)

Just waiting on a wheelset from JRA, then I will nearly be there. Then just gotta decide cable or hydraulic discs, but nobody seems to know when SRAM reds hydraulics will be out???

Remember the On-One Uncle John has a disc tab on the frame (though not on the fork).

Am going to hold out for a while yet until there's lots of choice. But that Condor.... 😛

Bit more versatile than the average CX frame - but the Singular Peregrine is perhaps also worth considering.

- nearly bought one but couldn't source any carbon disk forks in UK at the time and I'd rather not ride a non-carbon fork
ended up with pro6 as a frameset couldn't resist

somewhere in the last thread on this someone posted a picture of i think a very nice rose bikes disk cx

Whyte do a few cross/commuter bikes with disc brakes. I bought the Kings Cross one to do some road/off road stuff straight from the door and it is pretty fun. May need some better tires, thinking about some Kenda small block 8s.

Got one too. It's not really a traditional cross bike, more a mongrel of cross and mountain bike, so maybe not for a racer. I like mine a lot....

Some very vague ones, possibly something between the current Kite and Peregrine which may replace them both... How many 700c drop barred, disc-equipped, multi-purpose bikes can you have in one product line?

My new build. Loads of fun, and feels fast. Serious amount of toe-overlap and I'm used to overlap, so had to get shorter cranks. Quite a bit of paint chip before being ridden in anger.
Hoping to love it as much as the Swift.

Good thread.

I'm almost finihsed a Planet X Uncle John build, with Riser bars and hydraulic disc brakes.
It will be my " get around " bike.

I'm already planning my next bike.
I want a road bike, with Hydraulic disc brakes.
I've been surfing and it seems that some of the manufs are looking at hydraulic brake levers, but some seem to be aiming to use hydro brakes in conjunction with Di2.

I want hydro, disc brakes, with cable operated gears.
On a road bike.
So far its looking like SRAM, if they, when they, bring it out.

Anyone else looking for a road bike, not cyclocorss.
With hydro brakes, cable operated mechs ?.
( I'm not interested in the - Are hydro brakes really needed for road bikes, discussion )
😉

Going to go bb7 and ultegra 1x 10 for now.
I've had a pro 3 and 5 before so know how good they are, where as I've never seen a condor.

Thinking about a new road bike to replace the Kaffenback . Was going fairly conventional but now wondering about future proofing myself with a light disc compatible frame to go along side my Cotic X.
Like the x but would now buy something more monstercross.

Certainly not light but i love my Fargo and it'll run pretty much any tyre you want. I have 2.35" Big Apples on mine and it just eats up the potholes and country lanes. Switch the tyres and it's pretty capable off road as well.

My most used bike at the moment. In winter it's my road bike, in summer it's a bridleway/light trail bike. Minimal maintenance with the Alfine hub and BB7 brakes. Not what you would call light though. Makes me very happy to get back on my road bike. Edit, or indeed my mountain bike.

If you're going to race cross you'll want something lighter than a Peregrine.

I love mine, but it's too heavy to carry far.

No but I have had two focus bikes (one road and one cross) and really rated them. Still got the roadie but upgraded the cross and ended up with the kinesis pro 6 cause it was on offer.

Focus are always on my list now though when looking at new bikes

Now I'm reading threads about disc braked CX bikes, with a list of available bikes and pictures.

This can only end one way...

I've got a friend who's 6'7'' and had Enginma knock him up a Ti road bike and they made it look normal. It's got the longest headtube in the world but the bike looks "right."

It's a shame that so many seem to be going as complete bikes only rather than being available as frame and fork.

MTG - I reckon you'll love a cross bike - will suit you down to the ground.

LOL didn't stop you selling me the Roadrat 😯

The Major Jake is a 60cm frame and the Voodoo is a 20" MTB frame

I think I'll get a measure up at my LBS to see what size I really need
