hi, i have 700 wheels on the hard tail for adventure races. they work really well, fast enough on the road sections and nearly as good as mountain bike tyres/wheels on the rougher stuff. i have used continental twisters and specialized something. usually at 80 psi, however i keep getting pinch punctures on the faster downhill sections - usually rough forest tracks . i did the gaelforce north today in donegal - a brilliant race, but was well p1ssed to get two punctures at the same time.
does anyone have similar experiences or any solutions ! thanks
Tubs not clinchers or bigger tyres, Racing Ralphs @ 35mm took a fair old beating from me and roll pretty well.
thanks very much. would tubeless work or be of any benefit ?
Might help, not sure you would get a ghetto or conversion method to work at those pressures.
Might be worth sticking normal wheels and tyres but finding something thinner and faster rolling but still fat?
26 or tubeless.
700 not working as well as you'd like to think. Just cos the ride is firmer doesn't mean it's faster.
