Hi,

Sadly I just managed to lost my well loved, ancient VDO C4. Unable to find same one as it is really old model.

So thought, maybe it is time to jump forward and upgrade with something new. Maybe with added HR function.

Had a quick look in the likes of VDO, Sigma, Cateye and Lezyne offer and realized that for alti/HR functionality will need to hark-out 80-100 quid...

... that was a bit of a shocker...

Is there anything I'm unable to google, for less money and with all standard cyclo-computer functions plus Alti and HR?

Cheers!

I.

TBH I think "old fashioned" cycle computers have largely been killed off by GPS devices now.

The sort of features you want integrating won't tend to be such selling points on a "dumb" wheel rev counting bike computer these days, more people would opt for a garmin/wahoo/bryton GPS unit instead, hence the prices are higher as they won't shift as many units...

Same as above, get a Bluetooth HRM strap and use the health function on your phone?

Phone for altitude won't be accurate as GPS altitude isn't very accurate. That said there are a few phones with barometers in them. Many dedicated GPS tracking devices have barometers. They do need calibrating really though.

If tracking and upload to a site like Strava then without barometer data the altitudes get corrected based on geographical elevation data.

However if you're just looking for elevation gain then accuracy isn't too much of an issue so long as it's consistent about the change in altitude.

Phone options, bear in mind battery life  especially if you want a phone for emergency use.

Hi,

Ended up with Sigma BS 23.16 STS. Found it for 65 euro, that is digestible for me.

Thanks everyone!

Cheers!
