Local charity ride, riders hit, six in a serious condition. Driver leaves the scene, chased by police. Apparently he pulled a gun so was shot by the officer. Possible drink and/or drugs involved. This was posted on a US cycling forum - "Our director was in the masters field that was run into. He’s in the hospital up there in Show Low now with many fractures, neck injury and punctured/collapsed lung"
Bug bump
On the BBC news now.

Tragic for all involved, but my first reaction was "karma"
Much as I’m in favour of presumed fault, I can’t help feeling shooting the driver didn’t help the situation overly.
But I wasn’t there and there will be factors I don’t know about.
Hopefully folk recover.
Just read this on SKy news, pics of the truck and remains of the bikes. The truck still had a wheel stuck in its grill.
Perhaps the cyclists should been armed?!
F me - bonkers country. Bloody glad I left..
