When even a professional team can be subject to the idiocy of people who don't use their eyes.

Majka of Bora-Hansgrohe crashes into pedestrian

Make sure you scroll down and watch the short clip.

Sadly, after that incident, they suffered almost exactly the same thing minutes later. Only the second time, the woman stopped at the very last second.

Unbelievable.

I'm surprised it doesn't happen more often to be honest, I'm half expecting some ol' french chap to come pottering out of his allotment in his vintage 2cv van right into the tdf peloton !

flaming cyclists treating the roads like a racetrack. Looked like they are jumping the lights as well.

To be honest it's lucky none of the parties involved suffered life changing injuries in that.

Trouble is, stupidity happens no matter how much you try to mitigate it.😔

Having marshalled small local club events and a stage on ToB, I'm astonished it doesn't happen every single bloody day.

The number of times I see pedestrians (as a pedestrian myself) just completely oblivious on thier phones or otherwise zombified, on train station escalators, crossing roads, whatever.. It's really astounding.

Just walking to work in a city people regularly bounce off me because they are simply not paying attention to what they are doing.

They might not even be glued to a phone, often they are walking in one direction whilst looking in another direction, whilst changing the direction they are walking in.

It's like a lot of people have no spacial awareness what so ever. Like they are in a little bubble that the entire world revolves around.

A couple of years ago a bloke took umbrage with me when I pointed out he may be best not to stand with his sprog in a push chair in a coned off lane into our local triathlon transition.....
