A man, 18, arrested in connection with the incident remains in custody.

A teenager, aged 17, has been released on bail.

I sincerely hope that the book is well and truly thrown...

I'm dismayed but not really surprised - bike theft in South Wales seems to be of epidemic proportions and has been for a few years now.

Had mine nicked from my shed - two and a half years ago now, I've never really fixed the lock (bike live in the house now) I just hammered the bits of bent metal leftover into a hook shape and that's it - there's nothing in there - but every few months it get ripped open in the middle of the day when we're out - I guess they're hoping I'll start using it again.

I'll catch them one day...

Can we bring back the rack for these scumbags? Or, maybe, hanging-drawing and quartering? 👿

Can you turn your shed into a kind of roach motel? Coming home from work to find a couple of scrotes still in the shed, unable to leave, would be deeply satisfying. Just bid them goodnight and phone the old bill in the morning.

Having been shot in the knee with a BB from a black widow I can vouch that it hurts abit.

Edit - and hip.

Not trivial at all! Nephew lost his eye with one of those guns!

That the headline is missing a detail, just adding it in. What's your point?

Doesn't matter what they were shot with. I suppose if someone got stabbed with a spoon it wouldn't be as serious?

Of course it matters what they were shot with! Just like in this case it matters what was stolen (reason for being posted on here).

No it's not trivial, but not as serious as headline implies.

Sounds like an ideal place to store lots of heavy sharp pointy things.

But be careful not to leave them resting against the door in manner that might make them fall on someone. 😈

Yes i certainly wouldn't be balancing my lawn mower on top of the shed door in some crazy Buster Keaton fashion, that would be madness.

I hope the victim in all this is ok.

Yeah a booby trap is very tempting but I've got kids and you can tell a 9 year old 178 times (give or take) not to go into the shed and the moment you're not looking he'll want to see why for himself.
You could of course not say anything and hope that by not creating any mystique about it coupled with his almost certain knowledge it's empty bar junk and spiders that he never will - but there will always be that day he can't find his micro scooter and goes all unreasonably and obsessive and starts opening everything on the earth he can looking for it.

I'm no keyboard warrior, but if I caught them I would dearly like to kick them in the knackers (and run away)

In a more serious post-lunch mood I'd suggest a sonic booby trap.

Someone on here suggested using one of those really loud rape alarms that start when you pull a pin out. Some string from the door to the pin and you have an improvised sonic claymore. Just remember to reach around the door and unhook it before accessing the shed yourself.

I'll see if I can find the link to the alarm...

Here you go, 143dB alarm for £8. The eBay auction has ended but there are plenty of Similar Items.

If it's an airsoft BB gun law says you needs to be over 18, could be convicted of GBH for shooting someone in the face with one. If it is an air pistol it would be classed as a firearm in the eyes of the law and he could get the book thrown at him.
