Hockley's position, when he spoke to us, that he was descending on a blind corner and keeping to his side of the road.
Reading between the lines here it's feasible that he was coming down at mach one, far too fast for a 'blind corner', so he could well be at fault, or at least partly. Seems he was doing the http://www.boudiccasportive.co.uk/ so it's fair to assume he wasn't hanging about.

Thats just down the road from my mates house, it is barely wide enough for one car, and is used as a bit of a rural rat run at times too
