After a number of punishment passes I thought I get a bike camera for recording the idiots as the local Police seem quite helpful.

So I bought a Cycliq 12 handle bar mount camera, only the mounting bracket is very stiff, so stiff in fact that it broke on the first attempt to mount the camera in the bracket (after attaching the bracket to the handlebars).

Anyone else have one and is yours also really stiff to clip on / out?

Mine's been fine so far (ETA - it's a firm twist, but not excessive) but I've read other reports of this so I expect there's a fairly fine tolerance between the clip on the camera and the socket on the bars.  Or rather, the tolerance of the fit is tighter than the tolerance of their QC process.

Off the bike (as I can't use it on the bike now), it does seem a very stiff bracket, way stiffer than a Garmin or Polar etc.

The plastic by the hinge is only 1mm thick, so it does seem a very daft design....

1) it only goes one way.

2) it's still stiff.

3) oo err missus.

Contact them. Their customer service was always very good. They sent me a replacement Fly 6 when I lost mine due to a failed rear mount causing it to be shed somewhere and Surrey.

My original 12 bricked for no apparent reason. Probably the USB port 🙁 was great before it failed.

Well I bodged a new bracket in the end, couldn't find anything which supported the Cycliq and my Polar computer.

I already had a really nice Polar mount which has some spare threaded holes in the underside so I just had to mate the two brackets using a strip of metal, as the holes didn't line up...
