As title really. My 4 year old is doi g greatvin her frog 52 small. My 2 year old loves me pulling him on the tailgater. This leaves my wife and our youngest walking/being carried a long way behind.

Trailers seem to be designed for 9 months up...

Skip clips for now, avoid over training and set realistic goals but ready for the Olympics late 2030's would seem realistic 😉

Something to do with their heads falling off or something? What did you do with the older ones? Package them up our wait?

What a weird post.  Just go for a ride without it, then let your wife go for a ride without it.  It's not that difficult.

If you absolutely can't wait then what you need is a babyschale

What thegeneralist said. My boy went in one of those from 8 weeks until 9 months. He seems to have developed normally, he's a bit skinny and is sometimes rude to his mother but it generally worked out.

We have one of the hammocks for the chariot. Works a treat.

I've been given a tag along trailor. Apparently his car seat is supposed to be able to be secured in it somehow to prevent him flopping about. Just haven't got round to using it.

We just go for walks and put him in a little life adventure rucksack.

Then when I've scored enough brownie points I go riding on my own or with friends.

We were following a guy with a Chihuahua sticking it's head out of a pannier bag yesterday. Little thing was looking back at us and occasionally looked round at "dad" who would look back at him and check him. I did wonder if the dog was barking letting him know people were behind them as they always seemed to be in sync.

Maybe try that?

(joking!)

I strapped the car seat into a bike trailer.  I also took it really easy!

We used this thing like a basic car seat. The problem we found was that we only felt comfortable on cycling only paths bit the cycle paths around here are all gravel and a bit rough.

The other thing I have seen is people useing a baby borne sling which I think is better but car drivers can't see you a have a kid the same which tends to make even the biggest arsehole behaviour improve.

This is the best way i could find, but it is a bit expensive unless you can find one second hand.. Fortunately i had bike mad colleagues whose kids had graduated to riding down the alps who were happy to sell theirs on..

It really is a quality piece of kit

Pjay, thanks for the article, very useful

I didn't know you could convert the trailor into an all terrain pram

The cargo bike I have (gazelle cabby) has optional maxi cosi adapters to put a stage 0 car seat in whilst 2 toddlers are sitting in it. Would be a heavy ride though!

Thanks guys some very useful posts. I'll read them in more detail now. We like to do things as a family rather than splitting up, other countries ride from a very young age, cant see the problem with it myself provided we take the necessary precautions, hence the post.

The tout terrain looks amazing although im sure its expensive! The babyschale seems affordable and as we will ride in a group 1 of us can akways keep an eye.

I strapped the car seat into a trailer using bungee cords. Acted as suspension and he always fell asleep in there.
