Hi all,

just got a nice new genesis cdf and need some nice new clothes to go with it.  can anyone recommend some nice touring brands - nothing too bright or tight, certainly don't want to advertise Sky or Toshiba, or any other company for that point (unless they pay me of course!).

Ideally I'd like to get some clothes that look 'normal' - shorts, polo shirts but have those more technical properties such as sweat wicking and quick drying and light.

Thanks

Having been one of the people bemoaning the demise of the Endura Singletrack 2 shorts I recently bought a pair of Singletrack 3s and I think they're excellent.  Both on the bike and off.  And as boardshorts too, as I found in Vass when I wanted to go windsurfing but didn't want to waste time going back and changing.

Obviously some will be polishing the chips on their shoulders but I like Rapha touring shorts. They're not super baggy and they're pretty long lasting. Got a couple of pairs of Vulpine shorts which are good but feel less solid.

Slim fitting plain golf shirts are ideal. Technical, wicking properties and smart looking. ......You can use them with your golf bats also (if you play).

Pedal Ed clothing is good quality and not too bright (mostly), otherwise regular road brands stuff all works. I like Ashmei jerseys as they're not too tight and are made of a smartwool material so don't 'go off' too quickly. The Chapter 3 short sleeve jerseys are very understated and comfy in heat, but they are very lightweight - quite robust though.

Have a look at the Sportful Giara range. Seems to fill the tickbox. I got 2 long sleeve jerseys for commuting in and they are very good in my opinion.

I've been looking for similar clothing. Ended up with Endura Urban range, shorts and merino polo shirts. Tried them successfully on a 30 degree heat ride on the Purbecks at the weekend.

The Mavic gravel clothing looks very good but very expensive.

The Sportful Giara range I find is great to look at (I have three pieces) but its a tight fit and on the roadie side of things

Thanks to all, will check those things out...

Love too the idea of golf shorts, to be honest, I left smart out of my criteria which on reflection is exactly the term I wanted to use!

So in way of signing off...  Yes, I want smart technical clothing to ride out on!

Cheers

I've been looking at the Pearl izumi versa range for the same reasons.

Problem I find with non cycling stuff such as golf shirts is they don't have a dropped rear so sometimes leave a drafty gap.
