looking for some cycling legging/tights, but don't want anything skin tight.
usually wear some type of endura legwear, but getting a lot colder nowadays. and don't like the harder material between the legs now, seems very uncomfy.
idea's please.
I thought tracksters had been left in the early 90's......... 😆
How about Keela Roadrunners?
Come in different lengths
I wear a pair of Ron Hill's. They produce some called 'bikesters' now, and I think they're great. I don;t get the hate at all. They're comfy and warm and not tight. I hate cycling tights as they usually have a bum pad in, which I don't like. Bikesters don't have a cycling pad.
just wear (thermal) tights and then baggies or 3/4s over the top if you want to avoid looking like a sex offender.
keela roadrunners ordered......look perfect
cheers benp1
Well that was quick!
You're supposed to pontificate more and be difficult... 😀
haha..........I am more a buy em, try em and sell em if they don't suit.
It's OK. They'll be on the classifieds by this time next week. Tony doesn't really do pontification, I'm just gutted we're not the same size so I can live with his cast-offs 🙂
Edit: and he types faster!
+1 for the Ron hills have had 2 pair for 15 years cant kill em but maybe they are shrinking this last couple of seasons 😳
+1 Keela Roadrunners. I really like mine especially having long legs.
Altura winter cruisers aren't too bad if you don't want the lycra look.
If you want baggier, get some cycling trousers. Or as above, shorts over longs.
Me and a mate were having a chat about Ron Hills the other week, or rather the fact that you rarely see them anymore. They never were massively stylish, but they were/are functionally superb.
when I was younger ron hills were my choice, but now as a older gent I wouldn't be seen dead in em.
and when your rides involve calling in a boozer or 2, I wouldn't want to upset the other people in the pub........... 😆
Was just about to start a thread about Ron Hill - did you know he's run every single day for the past 52 years??! Finally had to take a day off due to illness. What an absolute legend. I didn't realise 🙂

Proper tight cycling tights are so comfy and warm though? I've got a pair of Castelli Nanoflex tights that I've worn through two winters now, and they have been nothing short of excellent, warm, dry. On the roadbike I wear them as they are - nobody bats an eyelid. On the MTB I put a pair of baggies without a liner over the top - see loads of like minded riders every weekend. My cousin, on the other hand, wears a pair of tights that aren't tight, which gives off the vibe he's come out in his PJs or longjohns.
And Ron has run over 160000 miles in those 52 years! 😯
As DezB - absolute legend.
The tracksters are a fashion faux pas though - I still have some as they are functionally excellent 😆
I have quite a few pairs of the bikesters (since the 90's probably)! Still great for winter riding worn over summer shorts or under baggies, as an extra layer whilst out bike-camping, I've even a cut off pair for sailing (worn under board shorts in summer to prevent chaffing, or over a wetsuit in winter to prevent snags/wear/damage).
Only problem is they're not actually that great as an outer layer, neither windproof, or 'fleecy' enough. Roubaix longs are better. But they're not so easy to get on and off.
Coincidentally, Ron Hill was just on the news - had his first day without a run for 52 years.
Gotta admire that.
Endura Humvee 3/4 shorts. 😉
Shorts & MTFU
Or add long socks and knee pads for warm knees. Barely any flesh exposed then.

keelas landed. nice fit, long legs. not baggy and flappy, looser than tights.
