Hi,

I just got my new Crank brothers Mallets and bontrager shoes. Not ridden clipped in before. The front (football) studs are clashing with the pedals not allowing me to clip in, when I remove them I can clip in no bother. Is there something I'm doing wrong. I was advised to file down the studs. Anyone else had this issue?
M.

Can you move your cleats further back?

Or take your shoes off and see if you can clip them in without your foot in it, if not adjust them so you can

Same problem with Mallets and my (Polaris) shoes. Hope you didn't find out the same way I did, clip in, ride off, stop, fail to unclip, start off in a mild panic, wrestle one foot off, stop, remove studs.
I had thought about getting cheap shorter football studs but never got round to it and haven't really suffered. Am sure slightly shorter studs exist though.

I'm gonna leave the studs out and see how I get on, I don't intend to walk too far in them anyway. I might look out for shorter football studs sometime.... Cheers
