I knew I was getting a new helmet (a Leatt DB2 I selected).
However mrs_oab surprised me with a pair of Shimano MW5 boots as well.
The kids had listened to my moans, and bought me a Montane skull cap that covers my ears, for under helmet in winter.
😎
What cycling pressies have you got?
A Birzman saddlebag wrap thingy, and the GCN cookbook.
OK, I may have bought them myself and given them to MrsMC to wrap up, but at least I got what I wanted this year.
Endura hoodie that stays.
Fox proframe helmet that goes back
Sixsixone body armour.
223mm rotors, couple of new pairs of Woolie Boolies, Fox defender top, Fox skull cap and a Worx Hydroshot.
A pair of Dirty Rides trousers, can't wait to get them muddy
Also got a merino skull cap and some Sealskinz socks bizarrely in size small, so they need swapping!
Got some gore tex 5 tens, will try them out in a few days I reckon when I get back home to my bike.
Jr got some new deathgrips and a rockshox mudguard. She v pleased!
Nothing , but we don’t do presents, daughter bought me some cider , more about time with family .
Nothing but peace and quiet. We spent the money we would of spent buying stuff and took the camper on a lap of the NC500, currently in Skye, on our own in the middle of nowhere. Perfect.
Stolen Goat jersey from their tate modern collection. But I bought that for myself...
I didn't ask for anything this year as I'm convinced I'm going to win the megasack
I didn’t ask for anything this year as I’m convinced I’m going to win the megasack
We can't both be going to win it...
I actually had it in November, first new bike in 10 years .I'm ever so slightly pleased 😊😊

I won a GMBN race top and that arrived this week so that's mine. I did get some cycling fuel in chocolate form.
Got my first ever set of Maguras for the Piglet. Liking them so far although I suspect the thermoplastic levers won't take much abuse!
A toblerone, that’s pretty cycling related isn’t it?
Also some cash, which I could spend on online bits, but we’re off to LA in feb if omicron doesn’t scupper it so I’ll probably save it and spend it on donuts instead
Leatherman Squirt for my gravel bike bar bag and a Granite Cricket bell. Unfortunately the cow bell clanger is missing, so that’s going back for exchange.
Also got a a Vorsprung Smashpot from HMRC, thanks to a nice pre-Xmas tax refund.
My first delve into the weird shaped Selle SMP saddles, an Extra to hopefully make 60min+ turbo sessions more tolerable!
Wera Bicycle Set 3
Dakine Seeker 6l bum-bag.
Noice.
Assos Ultraz winter socks. I also bought Mrs Schmiken some overshoes and his and hers Garmin watches from the PSA posted earlier today!
TLD A3 MIPS helmet from the boss and an Endura Singletrack Softshell 2 Jacket from the sprog.
And a Kenevo SL from me.
200mm Brand X dropper for the hardtail. Replaces the 125mm one on there. Now it’s like a LLS 29 wheeled BMX. Result.
And after years of hinting a set of Birzman brake align clam tools.
I was a lucky boy and got a nice new set of hex keys, some Shimano lube and a new bottle of Stan’s with a pair of valves. All very useful and needed.
Lauf Smoothie and a Sigr jersey. Result.
It was Muc Off tubeless kit for me.
And benefitting from having the best wife ever I fitted it while she cooked an amazing Christmas lunch!
I feel I must have done something wrong though....
Bonty wheels tubeless ready, tyres tubeless ready (but well used) Fitted the valves and pumped them up with a std track pump... No fighting to seal nothing.. held pressure nicely. After the post dinner dog walk I went back to the garage and added sealant... All good.
Look forward to getting out and trying it now.
Also got the cyclepal tyre lever tool thing. Not really needed on the mountain bike tyres so I pop a roadie tyre on and off. Game changer! No cursing, broken fingers etc etc. Shame it's too big for popping in a road jersey.
Apidura frame bag 1.5L bladder from MIL
SKS veloflexx 65mm mudguards from other half
Kalf Merino long sleeve jersey off ebay from daughter
Alpkit 3.5 RIG tarp from son
Some nice nukeproof and Madison shorts that I'd forgotten I'd bought for myself and handed over.
A pizza cutter that looks like a bike.
I got a 'voucher' from my wife to pay for 'somewhere cool on your bikepacking trip'.
It's basically her way of saying 'we're going to make time for you to go bikepacking', which is really awesome considering how much of a challenge that is for us at the moment.
Some neoprene cycling gloves - would have loved to have them yesterday.
And a nice sleeping bag (twentyfour12).
@stevious is definitely winning so far. That kind of gift is priceless.
Spot on, that's superb. 👏🏻
On the basis that I mostly but what I want when I need it (non-gratuitously), for Christmas I asked for donations to rewilding forestry projects in Scotland which is kind of offsetting but also what I want to happen and family are happy to oblige they get similar in return.
Similar to stevious, I also ask for time away on my bike as a present to reduce fully when I go away!
X2 750 bidons
Some local beers and wine .... It'll make me think I'm a much better cyclist
A couple of Fox tops for when the warm weather returns.
Nukeproof merino top and an Apple TV for zwift.
Another pair of the Morvelo **** Cancer socks from my daughter.
Some quite lairy bib shorts and matching jersey from Mrs Sandwich (also Morvelo kit).
I got a nice cateye rear light that i asked for, 2 pairs of shorts that I bought for myself and a top cap engraved with ‘when in doubt, pedal it out’ slightly colin mcrae esque, but i still like it. It’s going on the turbo bike. That’s it for bikey stuff though.
New Time pedals from MrsA- lovely. To go on the new bike that didn't turn up on the 21st (but should be here in February!)
Mrs A received a top from here that is WAY too small and a pair of Shimano shoes that don't fit quite right either.
But none of that matters, because all five of us (and the dog) got to sit together around the table and eat rather too much, which was more than nice 🙂
Ravemen pr1600 for me (and maybe some new gloves tomorrow)
Absolutely horrible clugg multi horn light things for the twins. No bikes for the kids this year as they upgraded a couple of months ago.
MucOff cleaning kit, cycliq rear light, the Road Book 2021.
A couple of goodies from Granite Design:
Stash tubeless repair
Stash chain tool
Talon tyre levers/chain link pliers
Got my daughter a pair of fiveten Sleuths and an Endura helmet.
Lesson with Jedi so he can turn me into a riding god, I’m sure one lesson will be enough! 👍🤗😂
Nothing but peace and quiet. We spent the money we would of spent buying stuff and took the camper on a lap of the NC500, currently in Skye, on our own in the middle of nowhere. Perfect.
I hate you with so much jealousy right now.
Nothing (bike related)-- my wife refuses to bother with bike shops or websites. I of course have to check out perfume, jewellery, ladies clothes and other esoteric shops and sites.
At least one of the kids bought me a bottle of whiskey.
A Restrap saddle bag. Hopefully I get to go on a wee trip too.
New bib shorts, winter socks and mini pump. Not bad this year!
adidas Trailcross GTX boots.
Some replacements for my tatty RaceFace Charge kneepads.
100% Brisker gloves.
A cool little book of a photographic history of cycling.
A couple of t-shirts with bike related graphics.
An Oakley hoodie.
Can't complain...
Pal and I want to do the 5 ferries road bike ride off the west coast of Scotland.
https://www.fionaoutdoors.co.uk/2016/10/great-bike-rides-the-five-ferries-route.html
Our wives have booked a weekend for both families on the route in a nice hotel...and we can spend the Saturday to go off and do the route.
Absolutely splendid, will be a top weekend and looking forward to the route 👍
The Road Book 2021 from the kids.
A cycliq 6 from my partner.
A muc-off cleaning kit from my mum.
I might have bought the first two just to be sure 🤭.
GR@V3L **** brass top cap
And my annual request of CRC vouchers from most of the family. This is usually used to buy something I would consider a luxury I cannot afford.
I've also had a surprise secret Santa which was delivered to a neighbour - means I'm sporting a new merino Buff and softshell gloves.
All good stuff to plug little gaps in my clothing collection - Stolen Goat Orkaan knee warmers, Galibier barrier winter gloves, Wiggle voucher shortly to be converted into overshoes...
Anything to get my mojo back and get back outdoors on the bike!
Oh, and a really nice wee Sa Calobra print to hang up in the misery cave/office to further inspire me 😎
A nice book about rides of the world, and a new gravel bike, but that’s my own pressie to me 🤪
The revelate designs fairy visited…

nothing, nada, nowt, neigh, do to with cycling under my tree. oh well. I have been told that i will be allowed out at some point in the new year for a mornings bike bike though, so not all bad 🙁
Gore C3 undershorts to replace some that are 10 years old and falling apart.
New Giro Chronicle helmet to replace my Montaro which was starting to look tatty, labels peeling etc. I was quite annoyed until I realised it's more than 5 years old.
Muc Off stuff from my son !
I got a Shimano wind breaker thing. It's really nice. Not super fancy or anything but a little pocket on the back and a little unzipped pocket on the chest. The cuffs have two poppers so they can be rolled up the arm.
I would say it's the perfect design for me. And it's a noice colour too.
How is the GCN cookbook? Do you have the plant based cyclist one?
