Posting the text below on behalf of a friend, maybe the odd STW member who might be interested in this, even thinking of doing it myself!

'Will you Ride for Ryder?
Take part in Cycle Malawi 2010
This is tropical Africa at its best in one of the most laid-back nations on the earth,
a challenge that will change your life!

In Malawi we provide community-based healthcare to people with chronic conditions, especially those with epilepsy and asthma, and disabled people, often with cerebral palsy. Many are out of reach of government health systems and the help offered by other international or national organisations.

Established in 1990, the Sue Ryder Foundation in Malawi reaches out to disabled children and adults living in rural areas. Operating in the districts of Ntcheu and Balaka, which we will cycle through, the small staff team provide community-based rehabilitation and healthcare to 800 disabled people affected by cerebral palsy, stroke, and other conditions, and over 5,700 people living with asthma and epilepsy - at a total cost of just £20 per person a year.

In 2009 Sue Ryder Care must fundraise £200,000 in support of this programme. You can help us reach this goal by taking part in this amazing challenge.
