Do they like jumps?
Llandegla

Do they like tech gnadgery stuff?
CYB (of the two you suggest)

Do they need towing up hills?
Either.

Do they like a mid ride swim?
CYB

I've been to both loads with the kids. They absolutely loved the red bull at CYB since they were on 24" wheels.

But we also have many an excellent day at llandegla.

I'd say CYB. It's better for almost everything except jumps.

Took mine to both (10 year old girl). Not the most adventurous of rider, we found CYB a bit too rocky for her, but that was a confidence thing. We mainly ride forest trails so the flint and rocky trails of CYB were just a bit new for her.
Llandegla was good fun, after the first long drag its pretty much flowy. We were in the area for a week so did Llandegla and CBY almost back to back. We returned to Llandegla a few times, started with the Blue and moved to the Red. Blue still has the same long drag to the top, no escaping that. It was quiet when we went so were able to session some of the more difficult sections when we did the Red. One or two other hills to climb on the Red, but nothing untoward. (From memory I think there was one other hill she had to walk, quite a steep technical climb with switch backs - but walking it was fine and we used it as a drinks break)
Also the north shore type sections spooked her (or was that Cannock??) - only a small drop but depends on confidence, it was all rollable.
I always feel bad because she's 10 and on a small wheeled hardtail, where as I'm sat there nice and comfortable on my nice big bouncy 29er.

Been riding the red at Degla with my lad for a number of years now, he's just turned 11.  We've started dipping our toes into some of the black sections now.   Fortunately all kids are different as they'd be boring otherwise, we have a friend who's son is the same age and boosting massive jumps in bike parks in the alps, my lad isn't at that level yet but he's a confident rider.

Three mile climb at the start is a pain when they first go, so remember to break it up if they are not natural climbers with some food stops, sight seeing etc.   Blue is a nice enough ride, Red is now fun and hoping to do the full Black with mine soon.   His mum kicked his arse up the climb yesterday, he's not happy 🙂

Cafe is great at the end as well.

Think Llandegla is better for kids in general IMHO. It's a half day though unless your kid is really keen.

I've only been to CYB a few times but it that rockiness on the flat / uphill that you don't really start to enjoy until you get a bit of strength in the legs.

HonGeorge

It really depends on what the kids likes and how competent he is. If he's good on tech stuff then CYB is loads better, but only if he's competent. This is the skills loop at CYB but gives a bit of a flavour

Also the north shore type sections spooked her (or was that Cannock??) – only a small drop but depends on confidence, it was all rollable.

Is that this bit?
