Yet another ' will this gearing combo work ' thread.
Looking to move to a bigger cassette on the gravel bike and 11-40 would be perfect.
Anyone with a CX1 med with an xtr cassette on 11 speed road wheels ?
Pretty sure you'll be able to get this to work - I assume you've got a single 40-ish up front? I'd go with an XT cassette myself mind.
I've had these combos with a front mech working fine:
11-32/34-50 short cage Ultegra
11-36/34-50 medium cage 105
Worst case you might have to buy one of these too https://www.wolftoothcomponents.com/products/roadlink and you'll almost certainly have to add some links to the chain.
Just an update in case anyone searches in future - I know that's a very slim chance but I have hope.
Xtr 11 speed cassettes 11-40 will work with a medium cage cx1 rear mech and shifter. It just needs a ten speed cassette spacer to fit so I assume any 11 speed MTB cassette will also work up to 40t.
