Predictions?

Can anything stop the new generation from taking over in the men's?
Van de Poel V Van Aert

And in the women's
Nash V Prevot

Sanne Cant for the women's and Van der Poel for the men's.

Think Compton has got big issue at the minute with her breathing, be interesting to see what Vos does a at the last world cup it was like she hasn't turned up to race, unless that was the end of a big block of training and this week has been a taper week.

I'm going for Pauwels. Not a technical course where the young'ns would otherwise excel. I really hope Nys gets on the podium too.
The Italian lass, Lechner looks good for the win to me otherwise Nash. Vos's dodgy leg might keep her out of contention.

After checking the forecast and listening to this interview I may reserve the right to change my predictions in the men's race 🙂

Is it just me that can't get the Junior men's race? I'm getting "The uploader has not made this video available in your country"

I'm assuming it's not going to work for the men's race either but I've got a workaround. What you need to do is download an addon for your browser called hola better internet (there's versions for both chrome and firefox) and then set that so you're browsing from Germany. I tried UK, USA, and Belgium but none of them worked.

Being a fanboy of Van De Haar I hope he does well though suspect Pauwels will take it.. Possibly a podium for Nys but we'll have to see how the young crowd do.

All set to record, I have 7 record settings for the race on Eurosport 😆

I have seen on Twitter that YouTube in the UK will be unlocked for the elite men's race, hope it's as good as today's.

The UCI Channel coverage is always available in the UK.

The race today was superb, Sanne Cant did not look a happy bunny on the podium, that decision to run the last hill was a mistake.

Regular UCI channel was definitely geoblocked in the UK so that Eurosport could show highlights at 9pm. They had much more pressing matter when it was live like showing the skijumping and a repeat of the tennis... I had to use hola. Absolutely amazing women's race today, if the men's is half as good it will be a corker.

The final lap was amazing. Why it wasn't live(even on useless Eurosport) I don't know. Hola to the rescue!

Stybar is just such a class act - his approach ton racing is just go go go - last years worlds was one of the best races I think I've ever watched - the number of attacks he put in was phenomenal - true Styby Style!

Agree about PFP - current XC, CX and Road World Champ - up there with Vos' year when she was CX, Track (points race at Manchester) and Road World Champ - awesome diversity!

And the junior men's winner is also current XC junior World Champ

The future is bright!

if tomorrow is as good as both the women's and junior races today, then we're in for a treat - can not wait!!

I think the mens race will be fairly tactical, having a team mate up the road helped Ferrand-Prevot, so given the depth of the Belgians I’m going for Van Aert. It would be great to see Nys up there for one last hurrah though.

Tactics being go, go, go!

Wow nail it from the gun, almost get caught by your team mate who's pulling your biggest rival up to you, then go, go, go again.

Superb racing.

Great race. VDP looks like a lad, rides like the boss! First senior champ on DI2 and discs?

Four really good races, very hard conditions to race on .I do prefer a more heads down course though tbh sand/mud as opposed to a skating rink.the junior race was really good and the women's excellent..

Blimey what a pair of races, just caught up last night. Ladies race was amazing. Cant looked crushed on the podium. And what might have been in the men's race had Van Aert not had his mechanical early on?

Yeah pity we were denied the race between the two.

That was his first race on a Shimano single ring up front, seems a little odd to change to an unproven, (to him), setup for the Worlds!

Wout rides Sram. I really can't believe these guys are riding a single ring without an additional guide. I know Sram says they are not needed but I reckon Wout will beg to differ...

Interesting, I'd assumed Shimano as I thought all SRAM people were already on single rings.

Three days before the race Van Aert received a new custom-painted blue Colnago bike which had a single front chainring whereas he usually rides a double chainring. "In hindsight it's easy to say riding a new bike was a mistake. I rode the bike before and it was never a problem. I was really looking forward riding my new bike but it ruined my race early on. I dropped my chain but I don't know how. Probably there was too much mud between my chain and the plate," Van Aert said.

A lot of my friends who race with a single ring up front have had problems all seasom with dropping chains. I'll look forward to watching the races once Telekom get off their a***s and sort out my broken internet connection! 🙁

Aye, Van Aert on SRAM single, MVDP on Shimano DI2 double, he probably never shifted off the big ring the rate he was going!

Just got around to watching this, epic flat out race.

Even MrsBouy was impressed with the way they all rode and gave everything.

Van Aert has been on CX1 on and off all season, he didn't just start using it at Tabor! Ballache for him though dropping his chain, no wonder he looked as gloomy as Sanne on the podium 🙂
