I've got Mavic 319's on my cx bike and I'd like to run them tubeless, would proper tubeless tyred mounted on rims trips work?
dont see why not...
Only one reply, I am surprised.
I take it these vittoria tnt thingies are a top choice?
I found the tnt tyres a bit thick and unforgiving (and bloody hard to get on) so run non tnt xg pros - with stans rim strips they are excellent, with great all round grip, the only downside is they're a little tight to get on/off
I mounted non tubeless CX pros on crest rims and tubeless Schwalbe Ones on non tubeless Ksyriums. So I'd say why not too. One thing, the tyre pressures will be low (20psi) and the tyres are narrow, so I assumed tubeless rims would hold the tyre on better.
The only problem I had was that it took a while to get the tyres to seal properly due to leakage through the sidewalls! They've been perfect ever since.

I just found this American site recently as well. A ton of useful info about wheelbuilding and tyres on the blog, mostly aimed at CX. There is a lot to work your way through to find the nuggets of information.

Cheers guys, may well get some in this week and get them set up
I converted my standard shimano wheels into tubeless. Working a treat so far, looking forward to a proper test at the first race next weekend.
Stan's rum strips and most any tyre that takes your fancy (Michelin Muds on mine). The key is to get the right amount of tape on to build up the rim. The home made Coke bottle compressors work well to get them up. As stated above it can take a ride or two to get them fully sealed.
Running 2 bar rear and 1.8 front to support my fat (but getting lighter) arse. Plenty of grip and give a fair bit of cushioning.
Regards
Proper tubeless or stick with the Rocket Ron Liteskins I've got on there at the moment?
Come to think of it I've got a set of Joes rimstrips in the shed
