Will a short caged rear mech ie.. shimano saint or zee cope on a cx bike running
46/36 front 11/32 rear
or is it best to run a medium caged xt/xtr

Thanks

Strickly speaking I think the answer is no. I am struggling to find the range, but I think the offical range of a small caged zee is 28t.

To Calculate the range you want (Large Chainring - Small Chainring) + Large cassette - small cassette cog)

So (46-36) + (32 -11) Which gives you 31T. You can often get away with a bit more than the specified range.

I am taking if you are running a flat bar and mountain bike shifter? As the road shifters are not compatable with the mountain bike mechs on 10 speed like they were on 9...
