Mine are on the hoods but I've noticed a few bikes with them on the bars too. I quite like the idea. Can they be retro fitted or do you have to buy a bike with them as standard? If so which bikes have this setup as standard?

Search for cross top brake levers.

I think most Boardman CX bikes are coming with Chicken Levers

Just search components section on CRC with filter set to "girls".

In all seriousness a lot of people don't like em and remove em so worth a 'wanted' post before getting em new.

Took mine off after one ride and sold them. Get in the drops when it gets technical or steep. Personally having your hands on the tops gives me less control.

They normally come on entry level bikes and those set up as fast hybrids/ general riding as pure racers normally wouldn't use them*.

Easy enough to fit but you'll need to play with your cables and probably retape the bars.

*3 peaks accepted.

Easy to fit and very handy if you ride off road. That said they do look gash

I don't get this - way more control on the hoods and loads more on the drops.

But yeah, if you really want to try, then put a wanted ad. on the classifieds - lots of people get rid.

Cp I prefer on the hoods or drops but sometimes up in the dales on awful terrain having them is nice. That said I took mine off for aesthetics but im shallow

I'm sure I saw a guy using them on one of the TdF stages, some of the top riders of 3 Peaks use them.

I can see the benefit on long stuff like the 3 peaks as they allow you to change position.
