I've got a work meeting tomorrow morning in Cardiff. I don't think it will go on too long leaving me the afternoon to 'play' (i.e. make sure I don't get back to work in time to do any work!).

Only trouble is the weather look terrible - is Cwmcarn worth bothering in the wet or does it just become a slippery mess?

Yep, well worth it!

Rode the new(er) XC trail on Saturday morning and loved it. Nicely put together trail.

If it's been wet for a few days I head there to save churning up my local loop. Rides best with a bit of rain to keep the trail firm imo.

The original Twrch trail would be a better shout over the newer Cafall trail if it is wet. There are a few sections on cafall that are more natural hand cut trails through the woods that get a bit muddy.

Excellent, many thanks.

It looks like this year's allocation of hours for continued professional development will be well spent!

Well, that was a lovely ride. The glass half full version of me is really chuffed to get a ride (when I should have been working!); the glass half empty side is royally hacked off that my local equivalent (qe park, Hampshire) is nothing like as weatherproof. It had been throwing it down, yet still rode excellently.

The cafell trail I thought was excellent - probably not gnar enough for some but just my kind of riding. Just how I like my trail centres, especially the up hill bits.
