What with the Cannock [s]thread[/s] argument going on at the moment, thought I'd just say how nice it was riding around Cwmcarn yesterday. It was proper busy in the carpark but on the trail had no issues what so ever, was a massive mix of abilities on the trail but everyone I met was friendly and had no problems what so ever when asking to over take. There were a load of people who looked like they hadn't done much riding ever(blokes and girls) but had no problem waiting for a bit till there was a chance to over take. The look of joy on one girls face when she got up a bit of a climb was brilliant!

I've got to say it was pretty much the same at Glyncorwg yesterday. Without sounding too much like an advert for Welsh trail centres everyone was in good spirits and looked to be enjoying themselves. Everyone I came across was friendly and there were no problems with passing etc. Could've been something to do with the weather 😉

DWT, how is Glyncorrwyg and Afan riding at hte minute? Is most of it open? we are back in Cardiff next weekend and was thinking a potential trip over if half of it isn't shut??

@Cardiff, didn't ride there at the weekend, might explain the lack of bad attitude 😉

@creamegg, ladders (gone ages ago) tunnel/corkscrew gone to just run into section after.
Then wallride section has a couple of low berms in a vague s space that slows you down alot into the old wallride berm that seems tighter a then a couple of other berms that take you round the corners to the gate.

berms were a bit ripped up when last up there, but had heard rumours of MX bike playing on that section which may explain it.

Well I rode Afan last weekend and there was only one small diversion on the early climb but all of Glyncorwg was open yesterday. Haven't been there for over a year and thoroughly enjoyed it tbh 🙂

@Loco... so they havent added anything as such? Thought it was closed for improvements/additions. Ive heard guys on mx bikes up round there but not on the trail itself but wouldt be suprised if some do use the trail

@egg not a such the lower section is different with the shape of berms and the 3rd corner from the wallride berm is now bermed too.

Top section quicker though

@egg As LoCo said really, small alterations at the end and much faster at the start now. The middle is the same from what I can tell!

Whilst we are on it, does anyone know when the new XC trail I've heard rumours of is supposed to open?

Yeah, its very much needed judging by how busy it was yesterday, also heard they are going to start charing, always amazed me that they do it for free to be honest, just hope there will be a yearly ticket avalaible! Will be great to have another route there to allow for a longer ride, do you know if they are going to make it on the same hill as the Twrch trail?
