I am taking two posh friends for a weekend to do some riding, and I am reluctantly looking for something nicer that what I would get if I was going on my own.
They are flying from Spain just for the weekend so this time I have to concede.
Any suggestions?
Cheers!

How posh is "posh"?

Celtic Manor?

Per above - how posh is posh and how local do you need to be?

There's a few guesthouses and AirBnB holiday home type jobs in and around the village at reasonable rates, but I wouldn't characterise any of it as posh as it's just not that kind of area. Of course, if you mean posh as in 'not a bunkbed next to the pub' then there's a bit more choice.

Maybe Maes Manor up in Blackwood?

Castle Lodge a few miles up the road in Tredegar has some very nice rooms, and secure bike storage and parking.Check them out on Facebook, and speak to Tony, he's a really nice guy.

Agree that 'posh' might be difficult to define...definitely a place you wouldn't mind taking your family or girlfriend :-), I've been in a few hotels and caravans (airbnb) where I would never take my family.
Gonna check the suggestions, thanks.

Recently went to a wedding at Bryn Meadows golf club which isn't far from there. They do accommodation and list a section on their website for cyclists so assume they'd be welcoming. Defo what I'd regard as posh though I'm not sure on prices. You could ride to Cwmcarn from there and do some stuff on the way.

Second Bryn Meadows, it would be perfect for what you describe 👍
P.s you can even ride more or less fully offroad to Cwmcarn from it.

No offence to anyone but if I was hosting 2 foreigners and wanting to show them how nice uk riding and landscape can be i wouldnt be going to Cwm Carn. Could you get to the Quantocks and a nice old pub in Holford or somewhere?

I don't know the area, I'll explore it first and maybe take them there next year, also they need to hire bikes and logistics are an issue at Quantocks in that regard.
I though Cafall and Twrch where nice, also want them to have a taste of BPW as there is nothing like that in Spain.
