Bit of an annoying one here.

I managed to get hold of a medium Foxy Carbon frame on eBay to give the GF a longer wheelbase option compared to her Mojo HD medium. The other recent confidence boost for her has been moving to a 6in drop post compared to the previous 5in Reverb and I wanted to carry this over to the new bike. Cue the facepalm moment where I realise Mondraker's Zero suspension interrupts the seat tube and restricts seatpost insertion.

Current state of investigation is that it's damn close. The KS Lev from the Mojo is ~5mm longer at full diameter than a Reverb Stealth 150 but the Reverb has all the Connectamajig gubbins as well. Those 5mm maybe all the leeway I require. Options include de-connectamjigatising a Reverb but a first test fit had it sitting much higher than I would have hoped.

Shining a light down the seat tube I discovered a mess of carbon construction flashing in exactly the wrong place for the pipework... so:

Option A: Give up. 5in drop is all I'm going to get.
Option B: Take cutting tools to the errant material.

Does this also expose a small Emperors New Clothes issue with the Mondrakers? Even when you size down the frame, you can't be *that* small and enjoy Forward Geometry and 150mm dropper posts. Curse of interrupted seat tube designs all over again. Yeah, yeah, I know. First World issues.

Problem solved in the pub after work. Apparently I need a GF with longer legs.

Done some more measuring and it looks like a de-connectamajigged Reverb Stealth will just fit without an upgrade to GF... and the KS would be close but also an option with an external cable.

If you need 5mm, shorter crank arms would let you run the post higher in the frame.

5mm ain't much: I'd try a shorter saddle, saddles like spesh phenom are only about 35mm high, some up to 55mm...get a shorter one so you have to raise seatpost to compensate

Two great suggestions there. She's been on a Phenom on the old bike, so nothing to gain there but in setting up the new bike I shortened the cranks down to a more suitable 170mm where she has been on standard 175s, so inadvertently I've given myself an extra 5mm to play with.

I'm hopeful that although its been tight, the sizing is going to work out. No cutting tools involved.

Seat forward on rails. Less hip rotation, magically longer legs.

Is it possible to take a little material off the end of the Lev ?

The reverbs have a little skirt at the base, if the Lev has the same can you trip that ?
