It was just comedy...
We gave up after a while and tried to enjoy the hill back down to Langsett, coming back another way. Guess what?

Yeah, you could almost ride on top of the snow, but at any random point you'd end up as in the 3rd pic and nearly over the bars.

It was fun though. In a weird way.

My bike rocks BTW. And its lighter than Rich's Giant! WooHoo!

The bottom of my legs were red raw from the partly frozen snow scraping the skin.

Ouch!

Yeah, same over on Rushup Edge, I didn't think it'd be as deep as it was. Like you say, unrideable except in very short sections then the front wheel would disappear into a drift! Good fun though.

Yeah it was fun but further up the hill there were no footprints and no chance of riding up or down so we called it a day. 🙁

looks like hard work! we were out in similar conditions last weekend but were able to follow the compacted track left by the walkers. They have their uses after all 😉

Last weekend my Mum said she was snowed in in Huddersfield. I thought she was winding me up as it was fine in Edinburgh. In Hudds today and you can still the huge mounds of snowdrifts. ****!

We still have snow in our garden and my mates house in holmfirth is still covered in snow with a cars width to get onto the drive.

Looks just like down here on the Ridgeway! Slogged through 3+ feet of snow carrying the bike for a while then sacked it to do a cut-down version of our regular loop but even that took 2.5 hrs compared to the normal 1hr 15mins for the full version.

It was great last weekend but we've had a fresh snowfall in the week and it's partially thawed, so it's too soft to ride on and too thick to ride through.

It'll be gloopville when it melts though 🙁
