Hey all,

Need to get some wheels made up, and with the current deal on CRC and the fact that Merlin dont list the hubs that I want, I am looking at CRC's wheels, so whats the general opinion on the quality of their builds and if needed, their after sales service (in relation to wheel build issues)????

Ta muchly 🙂

CRC wheelbuilds are good. I bought a set of XT hubs on 719s a couple of years ago.

I've also had 3 sets of wheels off Merlin and the wheelbuilding has again been spot on. I prefer Merlin though. Probably as they are reasonably local to me so I feel that if there was an issue I could take them back rather than post.

Worth ringing Merlin IMHO as they may be able to get the hubs in.

Thanks Andy, my last build was Merlin too but I cant really ignore £50 off, unless of course CRC are complete rubbish?

Good point on ringing Merlin, I'll give em a call tomorrow just to keep my options open for now 🙂

CRC wheels get +1 from me. They can't afford for them to be bad and their customer service is both proffessional and personal IMHO.

All good here too, 3 or 4 years old and still going strong.

CRC didn't have the hub I wanted in, but I went ahead and ordered anyway. Estimated time 2 weeks and I was in no hurry as they were for a build I hadn't even started.

Hadn't turned up by week 3 so I gave them a ring. The customer services guy was ace. Saw that the hub was now in stock so he went down to wheelbuilding to see what the situation was then rang me back within 15 minutes. The result: my wheelset moved from pending to top of build list and I had wheels 48 hours later.

Still running true. Ace service even though it needed a call to hurry things along.

Got a Doublewide rim (why????) built onto a NP Generator hub.
Great build, nothing wrong with it, but I smashed the rim to bits on an OTB moment at Hopton.
Would reccommend thier builds.
