I have a naked carbon road frame and I am looking at getting some custom decals knocked up. Nothing too flash just a custom name on the down tube and a graphic for the seat tube.

Are there different types of decal.?

I've used those vinyl ones a few times which are sandwiched between two sheets of sticky paper. Most vinyl signmakers should do them with loads of designs & colours to choose from. I think I paid £5 for two large ones for the downtube & a smaller one for the headtube at my local place.

Various options, but if you only want small numbers or a single set I would use a computer cut "cast" grade vinyl, but then again it depends how detailed your design is.

Outside of this a solvent based full colour CMYK print onto a conformable vinyl with suitable laminate, but then it depends on the colours you intend using

Beyond this if you want a thinner "decal" waterslide decals are an option but then can be hard to fit and quite "delicate" on a MTB frame and really only viable for larger numbers

Whizz me over your design and I can suggest the best production method for the design you have in mind 🙂

I used DNFIve, can't recommend them highly enough, ordered Friday lunch, arrived Sat morning, wasn't even standard, reasonable too, cheaper than Silk Graphics.

Here's the results...
