I have a Cube Stereo 160 SL 500 27.5 Electric Bike which has an X12 rear QR axle which has just snapped on overtightening.
I can’t seem to find a third party one which quite matches the printed measurements.
Does anyone know, are these CUBE specific?
Printed on the axle is:
18C1QR50BEX-12-167-P1.0-16
https://robertaxleproject.com/what-axle-do-i-need/
That looks like a 12mm axle, 167mm long, 1.0mm pitch and threaded for 16mm
Not exactly what you are looking for but I have a Cube road bike with 142x12 and use this with it for the turbo trainer. So, as scotroutes says, looks like a 1.0mm pitch.

My Cube 150 Stereo has a SYNTACE thru axle.
Example:
Syntace X12
Liteville uses them and Cube as well. But not sure if Cube uses them on all Stereo bikes.
My stereo has a DT swiss thru axle. As long as any replacement is the dimensions Scotroutes said you should be fine.
Thanks for all the replies but need one with a quick release and the dimensions listed too
Is it odd that third parties don’t seem to do one?
And none direct from CUBE either?
DT swiss thru axle. As long as any replacement is the dimensions Scotroutes said you should be fine.
Correct.
Syntace, compared with DT: quite high torque specified to tighten the Syntace thru axle (tool required). DT you have this short handle. Guess torque is lower so?
Yes indeed. Handle on original looks similar to DT Swiss. But can’t see something exactly M12 1.0mm pitch and 167 16mm thread on DT website
Think closest dt Swiss one is m12 1.0 168.5 15mm

Hi chabuddyj, how are you finding the bike? I'm looking at getting one (have had a 150mm travel ebike before). The thing I'm wondering is how is it for general XC riding? Would the 140 version be better or does it handle tight twisty trails with ease? Secondly, how do you find the sizing? Does it size big/small/just right?
Thanks.
