My dad has a Cube Nature Hybrid One 500 Allroad and the freehub has failed. Not sure what exactly is wrong with it as I've not seen it in person. He's been told the freehub needs to be replaced. He told me the cassette wobbles about.
The problem is an exact replacement seems to be out of stock everywhere. The hub is a Shimano Tourney FH-TX505. Are Shimano freehubs cross compatible? Would a 9spd Deore/SLX or road one fit?
If the freehub fails then it freewheels both forwards and back.
Cassette wobbling sounds more like the locknut needs to be tightened up, or possibly it is missing a spacer (unlikely though).

Or freehub bearings have collapsed.
It's quite often cheaper to buy a whole hub and strip it for the parts.
Stock due at Madison 1st week March.
Part no for your LBS to back-order is Y31S98020. £11.99.
Thanks all
If I was to recommend an upgraded hub, what would be a good one for eBike use? I think it would need to be 36 hole and probably Shimano as the discs are centre lock. Would a steel freehub body best?

Yeah thought of that. Freehub bodies can be on quite tight though, might destroy the hub in the process of removal, i.e. you have to clamp it in a vice or similar. Suppose that doesn't matter if all you want is the freehub body
Sounds like bearing failure, you might be able to replace them if finding a new freehub is problematic….
Wobbling cassette deffo sounds like collapsed bearings, could be the freehub ones or the actual hub bearing
Had this recently on a set of 2k carbon road bike wheels, the hub bearing collapse was so bad it wrote the rear hub off (the bearing seat was so worn the new bearing dropped in and out)
Luckily the wheels were replaced under warranty!
