I'm looking into balance bikes for my daughter's 2nd birthday and I quite like the look of the Cube Cubie 120 but I'm struggling to find any reviews for it online. Does anyone have any experience of this bike, or any thoughts on it?

Basically, should I get it - yay or nay?

The big problem with that older ones was the saddle couldn't be lowered much. Not sire if they have changed this, I would look at the frog tadpole as this is the best one around at the moment IMHO and cheaper than the cube.

There won't be many reviews but there isn't much to review with a balance bike

Thank you for your responses. I'm not keen on the Frog Tadpole as it has a brake, which isn't ideal on a toddler bike.

I really like the Strider for being so well thought out (low seat height, very light weight, integrated footrests) but it just lacks style, the Cubie looks the business but there's next to no reviews online, where as the Strider is raved about.

I've got one but my son hasn't used it much yet. He's getting used to the idea of getting on and off by himself, but only usually takes a few steps. Anyway, it's a balance bike. Not sure what else there is to say; it's quite nicely made and standover was lower than some others I looked at (fitted my son from about 18 months or 85-ish cm tall). It was also cheap. Got mine from one of the German stores sales for about £50 inc. postage.

Oh that's great, thank you for the response - it's good to hear of someone who actually has one. Do you by any chance have a link to the german site that you got yours from? Sounds like you got a very good deal!

I bought my niece one, sounds like she is at a similar stage to warpcow's son. The bike seems well built, reasonably light, looks good, not sure what more you can ask for?

I sadly paid a little more than warpcow for mine though.

Sorry, missed the reply. It was quite a while ago, but I got mine from Bikester.com (part of www.fahrrad.de). I'm not sure they ship to the UK though (I'm in Sweden just now). They seem to have a seperate webshop for each territory and I've never seen a UK one.

Thank you! I've found it at a decent price on chain reaction cycles, they've got the 2013 model on sale, which is perfect as I actually like the colour more (white with blue and yellow detail) than the newer one. I've taken the plunge and ordered it. So excited!

(I already have my own scrumptious Cube but I'm even more excited about getting this one for my daughter).

I'll be sure to write an online review and stick a YouTube video up of lo on her bike once we've got it, so as to help other people with their purchases 🙂
