Thinking of getting one of these as I fancy a road bike with discs.

First up is the sizing. I remember a few years back when I was looking at a cube road bike the consensus would be to size up (ie I've owned a few 54 bikes so should go for a 56), but the sizing guide puts me on a 58 on these (I'm just under 5'10")??
So at that height should I be on a 56 or 58??? Looking purely at the geometry the 56 looks more like what I've ridden previously, it's just the recommended size that is confusing matters.....

They seem to get some good reviews, anyone got any opinions good or bad? The additional weight side of it I can live with.... How do the hyd discs perform? Handling wise is it pretty neutral (ie not racy)?

Thanks!

I have never really classed Cube as a road bike brand. They have no style/flair/panache. The "Attain Disc" looks very much the same; typical Cube detailing with the bright red/green accents. It probably looks cool if you're in your Forties and still drive a car with big alloy wheels.

Just got a gtc pro disc. I had a sizing dilemma (thread on here and short legs) and was buying mail order. I managed to throw a leg over one and was glad I did.
56 is perfect.

105 group set is great, but I already have it on my Arkose. Brakes just work.

Cheers all.

mcnulty, how tall are you?

Yes davidt, I do actually fully understand where you're coming from but..... A) I'm no roadie and B) Not sure where else I'd find a carbon framed, hyd disc and 105 equip'd road bike (that also gets good reviews) for £900???? The gtc attain pro disc doesn't look 'that' bad does it, from a road cyclists point of view I mean?

Cheers!

I was only jesting 😉 I've got a Canyon FFS; the dullest bike in the history of cycling. I think their designers were born before colours were invented.

I'm 5 10 and ride a 56cm Cube Agree SLT Disc. Size wise it's perfect for me. A 58 would definitely be too long for me.

I really like mine and as you say the Cube specs for the price are great. Very well made bikes in my opinion.

Incidentally I'm only in my 30's but my car does have big alloy wheels so make of that what you will.

A friend of mine just got one and preferred the 53 over the 56 - he's 5'10" but with short arms. I reckon the 56 would be good.

Why not go & try one for size?
I'd guess at a 56, as they're longer than the earlier versions, which were a touch on the short side to put it mildly (I'm 5'8 & needed a 58 to get the reach I wanted!) Much better now & a 56 should be right.
Cube dealers are everywhere, so you shouldn't have problems finding one to try.
