After this weekends race at the brass monkeys, I think i'd like a short travel full suss. Loving the 2012 Super HPC Race, but i've heard that the cubes have bushed links instead of bearing'd..
Has anyone ridden a short travel cube ams? If so, is the travel at the bum end fairly soft? Does it soak up bumps for example?
Cheers
Do Turners not have bushes instead of bearings? Makes mechanical sense to my non mechanical brain...
All Cube FS bikes use bearings. Whoever told you they use bushes is wrong.
I had an AMS 100 Pro R1, now I have a slacker longer travel Sting HPC as it suits my riding better.
The AMS was quite plush, I never felt the suspension working & I have arthritis in my spine, it never caused me any issues, but a lot of that is how you set the suspension up. You can set them up stiffer or softer depending on what you want from the suspension.
Well worth the money, superb bikes & very well specced. Great back up from Cube if you ever need it too.
Well the guy who told me is the manager of a Cycles Uk store! Hmm.. I dunno what to do. I want a short travel full suss that has the same geometry as a hard tail, so it feels racey and not armchairy.. if that makes sense!
I can get the bike I want down to 9.5kg, which is hardtail weight anyway, so surely that suspension at the back can only be a benefit, right?
