One of my children was mugged riding my nuke proof scout. No injuries, just 1 bike down.

I'm now faced with a choice of what to replace it with. Must be 1x11, must have uppy-downy seat post. And that + other choices at wheelies led me to think of maybe an Orange Crush. Shame that the desired model is in dull grey. Though one child is keen for us to get exactly the same again: lurid lime green/yellow Nukeproof scout.

After riding the Scout a couple of times I'm determined to stick to my Canyon Spectral. The Scout was so harsh. Would either of the Oranges be any comfier? Or should I look at something else?

Those Stanton frames look very pretty. Sadly not on the wheelies.co.uk list which I have to use. + a little bit above the available budget of <£1800

I like the Crush, and while I agree the grey is a bit dull its quite classy looking.

In the end I went for the Whyte 905, lurid colour, 1x11, dropper, yari, job done. Rides great, doesn't feel particular harsh.

I have a 2015 crush and it's immense, I've changed it to 1x10 and added a droplet. It's the very bright green.
It's one hell of a capable bike,

I think the P7 would be the pick if you want another rowdy hardtail. What about that Orbea Loki? I rode the demo bike from my local bike shop and it was very comfortable and surprisingly quick too. No dropper post though.
