Hi,
I'm swapping my forks from a bike with a crane creek headset to one with a race face headset.
I was going to swap the crown race (or the bit that you whack onto the fork, what ever that's called) but just sticking the forks straight in feels fine?
i.e can i use the crown race from the cane creek headset with the race face headset?
Are all crown races the same?

Do all headsets come with one?
Crown races are different for different headsets (that's why you have a crown race).
Don't know if they are compatible. Try it, let us know if you die.
I suspect many are - but rather than figuring out if they are by me dying or now I'd like to know if anyone actually knows!
Play it safe and swap the crown races then. Dunno why you didn't do that anyway lol.
Its a bit of a faff and I'm inpatient!
you can get away with it but in my experience it makes the bike steer horribley, moves freely to begin then gets very stiff the further you move the bars,
just swap em over, only take a 30 second
