I’m having a brain freeze moment , I got one of those cheap fox36 on crc and I best get a spare crown race as knowing my bludgeoning skills I’ll destroy the old one, compatability should be fine as it’s got a hope pick n mix on

Do I need a 1 1/8 or 1.5 ?

Thanks in advance , ive got 1 1/8 in the basket, but I’m having doubts
I’m Now thinking it’ll isn’t 1.5 where it sits in the tube

A tapered steerer is 1.5 at the crown..
1.125 where your star nut goes in.

Thanks bearback so a 1.125 ( 1 1/8) is for a straight steerer, so the majority of new MTBs would use a 1.5 crown race ?

I’m glad is asked :0)

I'm not sure how you'd ruin a Hope "crown race". They're already split so slip on and off by hand.
