Hi everyone, looking for some new wheels and thinking of getting some crossrides, are they any good?. like most things I've read good and bad reviews about them. found some new for £150 any other suggestions up to about £175. oh and they need to be centre lock hubs.

Thanks Jon

I've had no issues at all with the set that came on my bike... few loose spokes since then, but still true after 18 monthsish. The centre lock system means you can use any rotor you like.

what do you think of the weight? I know there not going to be super light for that price.

I'm not qualified to answer that really... I run Nobby Nics front and back and they feel OK to me, but yet again that tyre choice was just what was on there when I got that bike and they felt nice so I bought some more when they went...

They are lighter than a set of DT X430s I have but they have WTB weirwolf 2.3's on them.

sorry completely un-helpful.

problem with crossrides is that after 18 months of hard riding mine became disposable..

mine have been on the bike for a few years never had a problem! I'm 93ish KGs and i ride pretty hard over everything! and they roll really well, never had bearing problems.

The only thing i don't like is that they're not tubeless.

but for the price they are great and flat spokes are awesome! 8)

i had a set a few years back,

issue with the freehub bushing wearing and the replacement freehub put the wheel beyond economical repair.

Weight is approx 1900g.The alternative is Merlin built SLX/XT hubs with 317S/717s/Stans Crest.

Or buy my similar weight SLX/317 wheelset from me for £75............ 😉

I was under the impression that spokes came loose on all wheels and need tensioning now and again...? anyway I didn't see it as an issue.
