Has anyone been down/looked at the bridleway down Trout Beck from Great Dun Fell to Tynehead recently?

Last time I tried it, a few years ago, it was washed out, unrideable, and tricky to navigate.

Has it improved?

i did it a few weeks ago in good/clear weather, i went up it from garigill and looped round past cross fell/gregs hut. don't think it would have changed much from your experience tbh. quite few stretches by the river have been undercut and collapsed so needed to make a few stream crossings too, and was boggy higher up although got much better nearer the road. had a great ride mind 🙂

I intend to. Just trying to work out if my 4-crossings-of-Cross route is feasible...

🙂

Drove past there on Fri and was just wondering how much the river bank would have eroded over the past few winters, it's been a few years since riding there....
The descent down to Greggs was a proper rock fest 🙄

Ir,

I did the Cowgreen, High Cup Nick, Dufton, High Cup Nick Cowgreen route last weekend.

They have been laying flags along the bog fest that was Rasp Hill.
Not sure if they are working on Trout Beck but they are in the area.
