I know I need to try and get to try some on, just wondered if people had any recommendations?

Is the Spesh S3 any good for big heads?

Ive got a Prevail which is a fantastic fit. In other lids Ive had to have the biggest ones with pretty loose straps but this is only a large and the rear ratchet is done up about halfway too.

I've got a big head (63cm) and have always found large Giro helmets comfortable. If it's XC style your after, check out the Phaze.

+1 for Spesh Prevail or similar. Great fit for outsized heads and hardly know it's there. The smashed one in my garage demonstrated that they work rather well too.

Yup, I've got a big & slightly odd shaped head. The S3 is great

+1 for giro or specialized. I have a large aeon for the road and a large s-works for the mtb and both fit really well over my big head, deep fitting. Some helmets seem to perch on top and leave a lot of area above and behind the ears exposed.

I have a rather large noggin.

I have a Specialized S3 for road duties & it is fantastic, plenty room.

Giro works for my big head. Large Carrera also okay.
