Might be able to pick up a Cross Check frame cheaply.
I'm 5 foot 6ish.
Bit of research suggests a 50 or a 52, but probably a 50.
Any one of a similar height riding one?
What size did you end up with?

50cm I reckon. I'm 5'7" and rode a 50 for years.
