You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
In Otley at the weekend at the Inlaws. Might be able to escape for a couple of hours on the cross bike. Anyone got a good route with a mix of quiet roads and some nice trails.? I'm happy riding proper singletrack (as much as you can on a cross bike!).
Hit me up!
The chevin would be the obvious choice. Lots of bridleways and a bit of singletrack- more if you do some cheeky exploring.
Or head up to Guisley and then either into Esholt woods or down Hawksworth golf course and up onto Baildon Moor and Shipley Glen.
Ive no idea what is suitable for a cross bike I’m afraid - but there’s a lot of non technical stuff. I wouldn’t try the free ride stuff in Esholt Woods.....
When I was inclined to do so I had a bit of a road/trail loop that went like this....
Up Leeds road to Bramhope roundabout, left onto Kings road, right at the end and into the back of Golden Acre park on the bridle way, cross the A660 and through the otherside of Golden Acre park, looping in the pond, follow bridleway onto Cookridge Lane, then through the estate a bit and onto the bridleway that takes you onto Scotland Lane. North on Scotland Lane, left at the end, right at the crossroads, next left then into the Danefield side of the Chevin and use either the fireroads or the singletrack to take me across to East Chevin Road. Up Miller Lane (getting nicely washed out again now) and onto the cheeky side of the Chevin. Down past the White House and down either Johnny Lane or the footpath to the left. North Bar for a pint.
I have just done a quick GPX to give you an idea, but don't know how to upload it.
This should be a fun route for you and uses trails that my son and I use for training / fun:

There's plenty of "off-piste" stuff in Danefield too, but this route is 100% legitimate (i.e. you can ride this route without risk of being shouted at!) and it takes in some additional fun descents on the Guiseley / Yeadon side of the Chevin. Only 10 miles long, but it's a hilly bugger.
If you want it longerer, let me know and I will oblige. There's loads around here.
Nice one, thanks @daern. Looks ideal if I get the chance to escape!

This one will be longer than you are after, but you may be able to adapt/shorten

Start & end points are Headingley so you'll need to adapt to suit your starting point.
