Whats the consensus these days for greasing seatposts? Mine's creaking like a bugger and I think it might be from over torquing but it needs it to stop it slipping. Sizing is definitely correct. It's an aluminium (aren't all droppers?) post into a ti frame. Grease? Bitty anti-slip paste?
Cheers.
I thought someone would be able to help with this one!
get it really clean, incl around the clamp and bolt, and then either grease, or if you have a slipping issue, then a bit of carbon paste to help with a lower torque.
The dropper one on my Anthem creaks after a few months and a clean of the collar and bolt sorts it, for another few months.. In my case grease works better than paste (alloy dropper, alloy frame)
I had this recently with an aluminium post (Thomson) in an aluminium frame. Started creaking with every pedal stroke. Really annoying.
Using a solvent degreaser (isopropyl), I cleaned the seatpost, removed disassembled and cleaned the clamp, and cleaned inside the frame tube using a rag sprayed with degreaser and tied to a stick to get down the tube. Took my time and made sure everything was spotless.
Then greased contact surfaces with light even film of copper grease, reassembled and torqued to the recommended NMs. I also made sure I greased the threads of the clamp screw.
Been silent the last few rides. Hope this helps

Funnily enough in the article above the Cannondale Linseed oil trick worked on my Cannondale Rush swingarm. I had the dreaded swingarm 'click'.
Wipe clean and grease it. Also check saddle rails and clamp, and grease them too.
Get it nice and clean and then apply some carbon paste
