You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I suffered from a creaky bottom bracket on my Trance, so I replaced the Shimano BB with the nylon cups to a Hope PF41 BB that screws the cups together.
Eight months on and it's creaking again. I got a shop, which isn't local to me, to fit the Hope BB. So I don't have the tool. Also, I can't find a video of how to remove the Hope BB.
My LBS has a 4 week waiting list before they can look at it.
Does anyone have a link/any info on how to remove the Hope BB before I buy the tool?

But I would just order the tool.
The Hope tool you refer to is an 'installation' tool.
AFAIAA the cups are 'semi permanent' as the bearings can be replaced (Shimano bearings can't).
You can unscrew the Hope centre sleeve with the tool but then it's a case of VERY CAREFULLY tapping out the cups with a (Park) extractor tool.
Shimano Press Fits are service items, especially on MTB's which have a harder life with mud/water, inevitable jet wash Muppet.
Giant BB shells are famously accurate.
I would much rather have carefully greased delrin Shimano cups in my Trance BB than trying to tap out alloy Hope ones.
Never had an issue with mine.
@ginsterzdrz I replaced the original shimano bb like-for-like but it was still creaky after a month or so. The hope bb has been good for 8 months but now is pretty loud.
I already have the park tool bb extractor and a bearing press.
Where do you live chuck? Somebody local might have one
quite a long trip to Southampton.
I can post over if you get no other offers but it's pretty heavy
(as I remember, apart from acting as a bearing/cup press the main feature of the tool is a big hex "driver" that fits a socket in the BB halves - download the Hope instructions and you'll see what I mean. If you can measure that socket you could prob bodge a tool with a bloody big nut and some welding skillz)

🤔 Something doesn't sound right there then.
Had a Shimano BB in the Trance for over 2 years with no hint of an issue. It's been mashed (up gritty Rivvy!) and left muddy and wet😳numerous times.
Definitely the BB???
We get 'experienced' people in the workshop on a regular basis swearing the issue is a noise from 'here' when it's a noise from old pedals, seatpost clamps, stems etc.
Always worth a check...never Ass-u-me anything!
@ginsterdrz when I switched out the original Shimano BB, I used grease between the cups and the frame which probably made perfect conditions for it to move and therefor creak again. In hindsight, I should have used anti-seize assembly compound. A shop fitted the hope BB so I don't know why that is creaking.
I try to wash my bike after every ride, if it needs it. I use a hydro-shot which is more powerful than a hose but much less than a jet wash. Even then I try to be careful on bearings. I dry it, dry the drive-train and lube the chain and spray mo94 on the jockey wheels and suspension pivots. Is there anything else I should be doing?
I'd definitely say its the BB or cranks, as when I've changed it in the passed it has stopped temporarily.
I think I just have a Friday afternoon trance.
Check your rear axle is nice and tight. I had no end of grief with a press fit BB. I replaced it, the creaking temporarily went away, then came back. I then tightened the rear axle up even though it wasn't especially loose. The creak has now gone forever!
