Are driving me a little insane....
Current bike is creaking like for somewhere but Im buggered if I can find out where from.
It only does it sitting down and over rough ground.
So far I've checked: saddle, seatpost, cranks, pedals, headset, rear wheel and shock bushes with no obvious signs of play or wear?
Any suggestions.... bike is a whyte s150 crs

Frame bearings are the obvious ones to check now
Sorry for got to add that I'd let all the air out of the shock to check for play or roughness but its all super smooth.
Did you get the frame in one hand, back wheel in the other and see/hear what happens if you try and rock it from side to side?
I'd be stripping the frame and checking the bearings properly and then torquing it all to spec.
What exactly have you checked on your seat and post?
I have a g160 and had a similar issue and it turned out to be the built in seat clamp in the frame... Had to take seatpost out and remove it all... Regrease and refit post with carbon paste before I stopped it from creaking.
Drove me nuts as I'd removed my seat and lightly greased the seat rails.. Gt85'd the seat rails to seat join (plastic where rails enter) assumed it was the cranks or pedals after... Basically stripped the bike and refitted over the course of a week to find out that it was the seatpost clamp all along

yes I did indeed, there is a bit of flex but no knocks or creaks. I also tried pulling up on the seat whilst holding the back wheel to see if there was shock bush play.

Thats one thing I havent tried to be honest, the frame must have the same built in seat clamp as your G160 I guess. Its a crank brothers highline dropper in a carbon frame. Do I need carbon paste for that?
I tend to use carbon paste on any clamping parts whether it be alloy or carbon... Purely as you can be 100% sure nothing will move when using the correct torque values. Seen too many friends with stripped bolts or non moving droppers when they've had to over tighten seatclamps in order to stop the seatpost actually moving in the frame.
Just became habit after that and have done it for a few years now.
If yours is the same as mine..
To remove your clamp you'll have to undo the clamp bolt and pull it away from the frame with the piece that sits inside... Then remove the dropper post as the main part sits around it.. Once removed you can get te rest out.. Youll have a good idea if it's actually the clamp as it'll be dry etc.. Lube the bolt threads etc and the parts that contact the frame whilst some paste where it compresses the post should stop any creaking.
