It appears ive grown a worringly loud creak coming from the steerer - crown joint or lower headset crown. It started a few weeks ago and have sinced changed stem, SFN and bars and checked tension so I know its not that. It doesn't happen all the time only when im pumping the bike or when the front end is under compression. The creak is loud and sometimes almost sounds like a cable buzzing on a tyre (i've checked its not that). I'll be stripping the bike tommorow, is there anything I could try or should be looking for. The forks are 2011 non taper fox floats, I might try my brothers Sektors tommorow to find out if its forks or headset if I can.
Could be the bonding between the fork stantions and the crown - creaks like hell when it starts to go. Not a safety issue as far as I know - just annoying.
